What was the drink called that Cartier drank to help Scurvy?

And what did they do to protect themselves from the cold?|||They drank a tea made from tree foliage - possibly from the Northern White Cedar but no one is sure (Cartier was French, it was the English who drank lime juice).

As for the cold, they did what the natives did, wore furs.

See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jacques_Car鈥?/a> for details on his life|||You can prevent scurvy by consuming vitamin C, usually taken in the form of citrus friut or juice. That's the origin of the term "Limey" for a British sailor.

Cartier protected himself from the cold the same way you would, by dressing warmly.
